How are YOU engaging with YOUR Clients?
When someone visits your website, what do you have in-place to keep them there?
Or, to look at it another way, what do you have to ensure that they're going to come back?
Many businesses spend thousands upon thousands of pounds revamping and maintaining their websites but, besides looking at basic analytics, have precious little knowledge as to whether that money is well spent, with the website simply 'sat' there as a brochure – a reference point, rather than a conversation-starter.
As we have previously discussed, marketing is now a two-way conversation. This means, where possible, giving the user a voice. Giving them information and, from a purely business perspective, 'capturing' their information so you have the opportunity to further your relationship.
This mindset isn't exclusive to your website either. The company website should obviously be the mainstay of any online marketing strategy, but the same attitude should be taken with all of your online output, email marketing and social media, for example.
What reason does the user have to 'like' your page? What reason do they have to 'follow' you? What reason do they have to read your email?
What reason do they have to build a relationship with you?
Ultimately, the aim is always to gain the prospective business of a would-be new client. But, today, simply 'selling' isn't enough.
It may sound simplistic, but you have to treat the consumer – who is now in a more powerful position than ever before - the way you yourself would expect to be treated. What good customer service experiences have you had in the past? When looking to make a purchase, what attracts you to a company?
The video below nicely summarises some of the mistakes many businesses still make when dealing with their prospective and existing consumers.
We are hosting a FREE seminar, which will tell you how you can avoid some of the pit-falls demonstrated in the video and tell you which elements of your marketing are engaging your clientbase – old and new – and which ones are turning them off.
At Contact Edge CRM, we specialise in Microsoft CRM, which helps businesses find creative ways to engage with customers. And by accurately tracking how the first engagement was initiated, it is easy to determine which elements of your marketing strategy are working.
